What does an HVAC Technician do?

HVAC Technicians need to have proper technical training and enjoy working with their hands. They must also possess strong problem-solving abilities, pay close attention to detail, and be able to work independently or as part of a team. HVAC Technicians play a vital role in keeping homes, businesses, and other facilities comfortable and maintaining the proper functioning of HVAC systems for the well-being and comfort of occupants. As an HVAC Technician with your HVAC Career Prep Professional Certification, you can work as an HVAC apprentice to gain the experience needed to become a fully-trained HVAC technician. Depending on your training specialty and industry, some of your day-to-day tasks could include:

 Performing general maintenance on HVAC/R systems

 Install HVAC units and other systems according to architectural designs

 Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults in HVAC systems

 Perform emergency repairs promptly and efficiently

COURSE OVERVIEW

HVAC/R is one of the most constant industries for new jobs. This program prepares students for entry-level roles in the HVAC/R field. After completing the program, you will be able to perform general maintenance on HVAC/R systems, troubleshoot common HVAC/R electrical devices, safely work with and handle refrigerants, and gain an understanding of the common tools that are used in the HVAC/R trade.

After completing this 4 to 8-week online training, students will be prepared to be part of the HVAC/R field and will receive an HVAC Career Prep Professional Certificate of Completion. In addition, upon successful completion of the program, the student is prepared to sit for the following certification(s):

NATE Ready-to Work, OSHA 10-Hour Construction Industry, and EPA Section 608, 61 Expert-Led Learning Hours.
